Superfastwebsites make it so easy and quick to get a new website presence online for your business or service. Here is a list of our most frequently asked questions about our budget websites...
Each of our various packages show details about what is included in them specifically, however here is a list of common frequently asked questions on our budget website platform:
General website questions:
Why should I choose SuperFastWebsites for my website?
SuperFastWebsites is a subsidiary of VIA Creative Design & Print Ltd, we are an established digital marketing agency since 2003 that has been delivering a wide range of web, branding and digital projects for many clients in differing sectors across the UK. Our clients range from independent startups and small businesses to large organisations, charities and public sector clients. We have developed this SuperFastWebsites platform to make it quick, simple and cost effective for anyone wanting to get an online presence or shop.
I need a new website asap can you do this?
Sometimes our clients may require our services at very short notice. Our usual turnaround time for a single page website is a week, other packages can take 1-2 weeks and commerce sites 3-4 weeks. However we can usually accommodate rush jobs depending on the size of the project and how full our production schedule is. We need to apply an Express Service Level charge to accommodate your request as it means moving projects around and will incur an additional £99.00 fee on top of your chosen package price.
Where are you based?
We are based in Middlesbrough in the heart of the North East of England, bordered by sea on one side and the beautiful North York Moors on the other. But if you can’t get to us that’s no problem as we can undertake telephone or Zoom meetings as we work with companies all across the UK, and internationally.
What are your working hours?
We work Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm. We are closed over weekends and Bank holidays. Of course you can still email us within these times at hello@superfastwebsites.info and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
How do I check on the progress of my project?
Once your first payment has been received, we advise on a first review date, each project type has different turnaround times depending on the nature of the project. Within that time we may contact you to request anything further we may need from you, this is generally your logo, page text and images, other than that you are most welcome to drop us an email to find out the status of your project at hello@superfastwebsites.info
What happens if I need to cancel a project?
Firstly, please let us know as soon as possible. We will need to charge for any work already carried out after we received your approval to proceed and your initial payment, but of course, if we haven’t started then there will be no charge and any payment will be refunded less the cost of any time spent setting up your project.
Are there any hidden costs?
We do not hide any other items in our pricing structure. We discuss your website requirements and price accordingly. Once you have placed your order with us, we adhere to our fixed/quoted price. If you require any additional work we will always invoice separately. All costs shown are subject to VAT at the current rate.
Do we need to have a meeting to discuss my project?
We are primarily an online business, so most of the time, a meeting isn’t necessary and the work is completed with only discussions over phone, email or Zoom/Teams. This allows us to maintain a fast workflow in turn allowing us to provide the pricing structures that we do. We send you a preview link for you to view your website and feedback can be provided by email or by phone. We then work with you to implement requested amendments to the site until you are happy with the final result. But of course, if you prefer to come and see us face to face that's fine too.
How can I pay?
You can send us a bank transfer or call to make a card payment over the phone.
How does the payment process work?
You kick start your project by taking your setup fee as defined in the various packages. The remaining balance is due upon completion and just before we make your site live.
You don’t have a price listed for my type of project?
No problem, this is where we will give you a custom quote, our pricing structures cover most common project types businesses want, but of course, we are able to take on bespoke or custom projects of any size, please contact us for a quote.
How do I check on the progress of my project?
You can simply call or email us to ask for a status update, given the quick turnaround of our websites we aim to get back to you first with the initial preview link and then deal with you regularly over finalisation and making the site live.
Where does content come from when we develop my website?
You as the client are responsible for supplying content (text, logo and images) for your website. We can collaborate with you on this, we have documents that can help with supplying text content that will make your web pages better defined and SEO friendly, just ask when you are ready to compile your text and we can send these through to you. It is very important that your website reflects information about (and from) your company, your services, your brand, values and aims.
Does the site come with a professional email address included?
We add a forwarding service to your personal email address so any enquiries through the website enquiry forms will be forwarded to your personal emails. If you want a professional email address to match your domain (ie-sales@yournewbusiness.co.uk) then we recommend our email service partner (Lane Systems) who charge £89 to setup your emails on one computer and phone for you and then £9.80/month (prices correct as at April 2022) for the email hosting service. The alternative is to use a third party provider like Google Workspace and their Business Starter package is £4.14/month/email user (as at April 2022). (More details here: https://workspace.google.com/intl/en_uk/pricing.html)
What is web hosting?
Web hosting is required so the website pages we build can be visible once someone searches for your website address. The hosting service is required to store your web files, pages, images etc on a server. All of our packages contain the first year of hosting for free, with prices clearly noted for each subsequent year that we host your website for you.
What is WordPress?
WordPress is the world’s most popular open source platform on which website designers and developers like us build websites. It provides all the flexibility and functionality we need to make websites as cost effective as the prices we charge. We use it exclusively for all of our SuperFast Websites that we create, from small business websites to ecommerce sites.
What is a CMS?
A CMS is short for Content Management System. This CMS is the back end part of the website where you can login with a username and password to edit any of your website pages text and images.
Do I need special tools or skills to use a CMS?
No. It can be accessed from any web browser anywhere. We will provide a simple user guide showing you how to login, access the pages and edit any content on those pages accordingly.
What if I want you to update my website regularly for me?
We can certainly do this for you through our Aftercare Plan, see below.
Do you have any ongoing support plans once my website is live?
Yes we certainly do, we have our Aftercare Plan which includes uptown 2 hours of updates/month on your website. This additional plan lets us undertake ongoing care with your website including fixing any bugs, updating plug-ins, carrying out ongoing changes, amends and updates to pages within your site at your instruction. Currently our Website Aftercare Plan for our SuperFastWebsites platform is £30/month, you can ask us to switch it on or off at your discretion.
What if I don’t have an Aftercare Plan?
Even if you don’t have an Aftercare Plan we can carry out updates, fixes and additions to your website at any time. Our fee is £30/hour for any ongoing development for anyone on our SuperFastWebsites platform.
Do you redesign existing websites?
Absolutely. We can rebrand your existing website, apply new colours, fonts and even host an existing website providing the technology it’s built on is compatible with our servers. Simply ask for details.
What if I do not like the design of the new website when you send me a preview?
If you are not satisfied with the initial design, we will work with you further and come up with another design. Our aim is to design a website that you are completely happy with.
How do I get my website on search engines, especially Google?
We submit all of our SuperFastWebsites to Google so they can be indexed quickly. Afterwards if you want to be found online for specific search terms or phrases then we recommend our Search Engine Optimisation packages. Our SEO services will help push your website further up the organic results pages for any specific search phrases you want. Please ask about our separate SEO packages if this is of interest to you.
What are my options for E-commerce?
We can integrate most payment gateways into your SuperFastWebsite but with our experience and knowledge to date we recommend Stripe and PayPal which are inexpensive ways to start taking payments quickly. Your visitors can pay with a credit card or debit cards or through their own PayPal accounts.
Will everyone see my website the same way?
All of our websites are mobile responsive meaning they will display professionally across all devices, however your visitors can see some things differently depending on their browser, screen resolution settings and devices.
Will my website design be search-engine friendly?
All of our websites are created with search engines in mind. However the rank of your website is wholly dependent on any SEO or online marketing you have applied to your site, please keep in mind that whilst our sites are search engine friendly SEO is required to rank very high up in search engines and if this is of primary importance for you then we recommend our SEO packages, please ask for more details of this when you sign up.
What images, graphics and text formats should I use for my new website?
Please provide all text, photos and graphics in electronic form. For example as .doc, .txt or .pdf files for text and .jpg, .png or .eps for images, if unsure please ask us.
Do I have to keep my site with you forever? Or can I move it to another provider?
You may move your site to another Web hosting service at any time once the new site is complete. We will simply package the files and supply you with a folder of these files that you can send to your new website hosting provider. There may be some features we have included in the website that may not port across but your new hosting provider should be able to resolve these for you.
How long will it take for my website to be designed?
Rough timelines for the various website packages are as follows and are based on you providing all content (text, logo and images in advance):
Flash website = 1 week
Quicksilver website = 1-2 weeks
Lightning website = 2-3 weeks
Woocommerce website = 3-4 weeks
Custom website - we would advise on a turnaround time based on the full requirements.
Is a domain name included in your packages?
Yes within any of the packages you choose it includes the purchase of a domain name for 1 year, after that first year the price you pay to renew it through us for a further year is the cost to us plus 30%, so if the cost for us to renew your domain through somewhere like www.123-reg.co.uk is £14.99+vat we will charge you £14.99+30%+vat annually.
What if I want to own the domain after you have registered it?
We can simply transfer the domain to your own control panel for an admin fee of £15.00 so you have complete ownership of the domain moving on.
What domain name should I choose?
Ideally you want a domain name with a keyword or phrase that people will be searching for although this isn’t essential. For example if you are selling custom made lights then an ideal website domain name would be www.custommadelights.com but equally something short and easy to type in is also advisable. Generally we recommend clients get a domain with their business name included as best they can.
Graphic Design and Logo Design Services:
I don’t have a logo for my new website can you create me one?
Yes we have in-house graphic designers who can create you a wonderful new logo that can also be developed into a full branding project should you require additional marketing materials to help promote your new website.
How much is it to get a new logo designed?
If you don’t have a logo for your new website we can create a simple text based logo for £20.00+vat, if you want a better, more professional logo the cost is £50.00+vat. However if you want a full logo development project applied to really enhance your business then we recommend our Budget Logo Design Packages, these start at £299.00+vat but also include design of business stationery - ask for details.
